🇱🇻 Latvia dismantles international crypto fraud centre
Authorities carried out a large-scale operation against a global network that created fake crypto accounts and phishing sites.
Nineteen suspects were arrested in Riga as part of an international investigation involving Latvia, Finland, France, Spain, and Sweden. The group created over 49 million fake accounts and websites to defraud investors. Authorities seized cash, crypto, and real estate worth millions of euros.

💴 Bank of Japan sees stablecoins as an alternative to deposits
The central bank believes stablecoins could become a new form of deposits thanks to low fees and 24/7 settlements.
A deputy governor of the Bank of Japan said fiat-backed tokens could transform the financial system. Japan’s three largest banks — MUFG, SMBC, and Mizuho — are already planning to issue yen- and dollar-backed stablecoins to improve payment efficiency.

🚀 SpaceX transfers $257 million in Bitcoin for the first time in months
Elon Musk’s company has reactivated its crypto operations by moving significant BTC holdings.
SpaceX executed two transactions — 1,298 BTC and 1,197 BTC — totalling $257 million. Analysts believe this shows renewed corporate interest in digital assets. The company currently holds around 5,790 BTC worth approximately $630 million.

🇬🇧 UK to equate stablecoins with money by 2026
The Bank of England is developing comprehensive digital currency regulations equal to traditional finance standards.
The regulator plans to introduce strict user protection rules, reserve management standards, and temporary ownership limits. This initiative will strengthen the UK’s position as a leader in crypto regulation.

🎙 Coinbase revives the UpOnly podcast with a $25 million NFT purchase
The largest US crypto exchange invests millions in bringing back the legendary show and media brand.
Coinbase bought an NFT from UpOnly creator Cobie, triggering a new season, and also acquired his platform Echo for $375 million. The return of UpOnly sparked huge interest in the crypto community and sent meme coins soaring by thousands of percent.
